Copyright and GEMA, regarding Mixes and tracks.
Due to the legal situation in Germany, we cannot put mixes online which contain tunes by artists who are members in the copyright collecting agency "GEMA" without paying royalties to GEMA.
So, all mixes, radio shows, tunes and clips on this website are 100% GEMA-free.
About the vinyl releases (cf. labels /
Vinyl releases) see
www.tilt-recordings.com/label.htm,
About the T-FREE releases (cf. mp3 /
Free Tracks) see
www.tilt-recordings.com/t-free/index.htm.

Demos.
Here are some important basic rules about sending demos to us:
1. Do not forget to put your contact info (email) into the file name or into the mp3 tags of your tracks.
2. Do not send unfinished material or clips - only finished tracks in full length.
3. Do not send tracks encoded in bad sound quality - only 320 kbps mp3.
4. Do not ask us if we listened to your demo - we listen to it and will contact you if we like it.
5. Do not upload tracks to one-click-hosting websites such as Rapidshare, Sendspace, Megaupload...
It is really the best way to send us demos by uploading them safely to our own secure webserver with the simple and convenient
Demo input form.
In addition: The fourth point from above is a rather delicate issue.
Seen through the eyes of a label, it looks different from the view through the eyes of a producer.
One problem is that labels know the situation of producers, but producers often do not realize the situation of a label.
When receiving demos, we judge the tunes in regards to being suited to our labels and ready (to be released) or not;
We listen to them and decide if we want to release them on our labels.
If we want a tune, we contact the producer.
If we do not contact a producer who sent a demo, then it is not a matter of disrespect. It simply means we do not want the tune.
Dear producers, please understand that answering emails, myspace messages and aim only for saying
"we don't want the tune" takes a lot of time! Precious time which we need for really more important things - talking to the producers whose tracks we want, for example.
This is why we stopped answering each and every demo: because it hinders us doing more important things.
We rather talk with signed artists about planned release than spending too much time on explaining to the other producers why we don't want their tunes...

Concept mixes aka Konzepttapes.
Years ago, Bad Boy Kaiza and DJ Hektik used to record "Konzepttapes", that is: mixes recorded on magnetic tape cassettes connected with a title and a particular meaning / concept. This tradition faded after CDRs had replaced audio cassettes. The last Concept mixes date to 2001 (Bad Boy Kaiza) and 2002 (DJ Hektik).
-
Language Barrier.
There are a German version and an English version of this website.
Our mother tongue is German, and many of the old texts on this website were never translated into English.
However, since English is pretty much the undisputed global internet language, the main focus on www.trio-music.de has shifted to English and most of the multi media content has been put on the English version. The German version contains mostly links to the multi media content on the English version besides partly old (although more detailed than the English equivalents) texts.
